CHILDREN
Our 3 Core Values:
Parents are the primary "disciplers" of their children.
The whole community has a role in bringing up Godly children.
The most effective way to bring children into spiritual family is
participation and observation with their parents.
An Introduction to the NCC Children's Ministry
At Norman Community, our desire is to teach and demonstrate to our children how to live in a community of spiritual family and relationship with Jesus as we seek to be a house of prayer for all the nations. We are committed to including children in every part of church life, recognizing that they are an important part of advancing the Lord’s Kingdom.
Kids of all ages are invited to participate in worship and prayer at both Cluster and Celebration. We want to model for our children continuous, faith-filled prayer and allow them to express their love for God alongside the community.
At Celebration, the children break into classes - Five and up, Preschoolers, Toddlers, and Infants. In each class, we use developmentally appropriate methods to teach key foundational truths from scripture as we seek to raise up a generation that is grounded in God’s truth. In the Five and up and Preschool classes, you’ll see the kids doing hands on activities, playing games, and praying together. In both the Toddlers and Infants classes, you’ll see members of our spiritual family praying over and playing with the kids
Though the structure and details of what the children do at each cluster is slightly different, the vision is exactly the same. The kids are a valuable part of our pursuit of Jesus and His Kingdom and are included in cluster life as much as possible.
Because we want our kids’ understanding of God’s love for them to grow deeper and deeper each week, and because we want them to know how valued they are by our community, you will find different volunteers working with the kids each week.
